I use OpenBSD on my beloved Thinkpad X230 that I use as my everyday, carry everwhere, laptop. It has a custom version of coreboot installed called "osboot" and the SSD is encrypted. It also has a new Lenovo branded extended battery.
OpenBSD 7.5 is installed at the time or writing this and the setup is fairly simple with a few addition packages installed.
A brief sumary of main programs post installation. My older laptops,
especially with the 1366x768 screen resolution, using a tiling window manager is
a must. I like Ratpoison, Sdorfehs and more recently StumpWM. I do not use
status bars or notification stuff (mostly). Well, I recently started using an
xorg program called xbattmon
. :-)
